Lynn’s passion for music and movement goes back as far as she can remember. Once lost at the Cumberland Show her parents were relieved to find their two year old daughter surrounded by smiling onlookers dancing away to music being piped out of a tannoy above her. It was the start of many enjoyable years of dance, music and exercise, but mainly as a hobby. It has only been through her training and experience as a Personal and Professional Development Coach, NLP Master Practitioner, and her exploration of contemporary dance and particularly Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms, that Lynn discovered the full value of dance, music and exercise, and that the mind and body truly are one integrated system.

Lynn Philosophy

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence recommends that patients with mild or moderate depression should follow a structured and supervised exercise programme of up to three sessions of exercise, each lasting 45-60 minutes, a week.                                                                              BBC NEWS 30/6/09

Our thoughts instantly affect our muscle tension, breathing, feelings and more, and these in turn affect our thoughts. We store our emotional thoughts in our bodies, in our physiology (the way we use our bodies) as well as in our minds. Unexpressed feelings become emotions and if they are not released from the body in positive ways, energy flow is encumbered, creating tightness, tension and ‘dis-ease’.

The Dancercise Company class is an excellent medium for helping release blocked energy, keeping fit, having fun, training yourself to stay present in the moment; helping bring balance to body and mind.

Lynn’s Philosophy

“Dance is a way of dealing with feelings and releasing them, instead of locking them in and

going to the doctor with depression and anxiety”                 Sarah Cook, dance researcher
